MEET THE TEAM

Heather Kukowski Owner/President 
 

Heather has been a private investigator since 2006. She founded HKI in 2014 after working

several years for various private investigation firms. She earned her Bachelors of Science in

Marketing from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City (Crazy, right?)

After college, Heather remained in NYC and worked in the field of advertising and marketing.

In 2005 she was invited to watch a murder trial in a nearby county which peaked her

interest in exploring the field of investigations. As luck would have it Heather was

introduced to a very kind family owned PI firm who taught her the ropes of workers

compensation investigations.

As the years went on, she began doing additional insurance defense work. This also led to

more plaintiff work, criminal defense work and missing person cases.

Heather loves putting the pieces of the puzzle together in an investigation. While some of

the smaller cases are being handed down to other team members she is involved in each

one from start to finish. She later learned her great uncle had been a Private Investigator

in Watertown, NY in the 1950’s. (It appears PI works runs in the family!)

In her free time Heather enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, cooking and spending time

with her dogs and cats.
